Piecework, installation & performance.
Decomposed silk, thread, wax, wire, dulcimer tuning pegs, reclaimed lumber, rope, metal, ink, wine, shellac on paper installation dimensions variable info: an installation, predicated on the concept of labor, examines ‘value’ within a system of production. Meticulously hand toiled silk vessels comprise a drawing machine. The performance; hand filling each vessel according to a timed and sequenced pattern plan – drips ink, wine and shellac – creating ‘binary’ appearance drawings. This project posits the question: what is of most value: the hand labored process or the end product?
